Reflecting back on the result of Sunday’s show, Tim revealed the show had been "a treat and a real enhancing experience".“It’s a great treat to be on a programme like Strictly. For an old geezer like me, who comes along in his 64th year and he's slightly portly, and he thinks he's a bit over the hill, this last month, with this delightful teacher, has taken me to a very special place," he said.

"I am fitter, I am a better person than I was a month ago as a result of this experience and I cannot tell you what a wonderful thing this whole programme is so I commend you all and thank you. I would like to say what a treat it's been. Thank you very much, and thank you to my lovely Nat."

Asked if they were going to continue dancing, Tim said: "Definitely! I'm going to move to Australia! No, it's been a treat and a real enhancing experience so you can't ask for more, really.".

The judges' Saturday night scores were combined with the results of the viewers' votes to decide the lowest scoring two couples facing each other in the dance off.

Both couples then performed their routines again; Mark and Karen did their Quickstep to Tiger Feet by Mud and Tim and Natalie performed their Paso Doble to Simply the Best by Tina Turner in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts and all decided to save Mark and Karen.

Bruno confirmed the decision be saying: "The white knight won the challenge. Mark and Karen."
