Hailee Steinfeld burst into Hollywood in 2010, after winning critical acclaim across the globe for her performance in the western True Grit at the age of 13, but the youngster had already been acting for several years in commercials and TV shows.
It was an audition in 2010 though which changed her life, after she beat 15,000 other young actresses for the role of Mattie to star in True Grit alongside Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon.
The role earned Hailee a SAG, BAFTA, and Academy Award nominations, and she soon found the offers flooding in, taking on the classic role of Juliet in a retelling of the Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet.
The young actress has also tried sci-fi (Enders Game), music (Begin Again), and has two romantic comedies upcoming, Why We Broke Up and The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight.
In 2015 the 18-year-old will star in the sequel to hit film Pitch Perfect, Pitch Perfect 2, and has also found herself in the running for X-Men: Apocalypse.
As well as acting Hailee has taken a strong interest in fashion, and is known for her fashion-forward but age appropriate red carpet choices. In 2011, at the age of 14 Hailee became the face of fashion house Mui Mui.
Hailee is also one of Taylor Swift's good friends, with the pair regularly making an appearance on each other's Instagram or Twitter feeds, along with mutal friends including Sarah Hyland.
