The 33-year-old is one of a number of stars confirmed to voice the much-loved children's TV show, which will return to BBC 14 years after the last episode was aired.

Speaking to confirm the news at the beginning of April, Fearne told The Sun: "Teletubbies holds a special place in my heart so I'm honoured to be part of this well-loved TV show. As a mum, I am sure the new series will enthral a new generation and I will certainly be watching with my kids."

It is a new role for the television and radio presenter, who simultaneously announced that she was expecting her second child with husband Jesse Wood and leaving Radio One in February. Shortly after announcing her decision to leave the corporation, Fearne told HELLO! Online: "It's time for a new chapter. There's never been a moment when I haven't enjoyed it but I had thought about it and having a baby made the decision slightly easier."

Fearne will join Oscar-winning actor Jim Broadbent to narrate The Voice Trumpets – devices which pop out of the ground and navigate the characters throughout the show. Meanwhile actress Jane Horrocks will be joining the cast in a new role of the Tubby Phone.

The Teletubbies became a worldwide phenomenon after its debut in March 1997. The children's show has aired in over 120 countries and was translated into over 45 languages, with 365 episodes created in its original four series.
