Christina Applegate is returning to screens and will star opposite Hollywood heart-throb Chris Hemsworth in their new comedy Vacation. In a clip exclusively obtained by HELLO! Debbie is married to Rusty Griswold, played by The Hangover star Ed Helms, and the couple have two sons together.

"She was a naughty, naughty girl," Christina said, laughing about her entertaining character. "She moved on and became a great mother and a great wife but she just misses having spice and fun.

"She loves Rusty but we kind of find them at this point where she's been stuffing her feelings for too long and Debbie's going through a crisis."

The trailer shows Debbie swooning over the young and handsome Stone Crandall, played by Thor actor Chris, who will no doubt keep female viewers happy with his twinkly eyes and a topless scene.

"I love that she's got spunk and has an opinion," added Christina of her character. "She's not just going along for the ride."

Vacation premieres in the UK on 21 August, and ahead of its release, Christina and the cast have been out in full force promoting their new comedy.

On Monday night the Anchorman star stepped out in an asymmetrical black dress that featured a neon yellow pleat. Christina was joined on the red carpet by her Dutch musician husband Martyn LeNoble, who she married in February 2013, and her hunky co-star Chris.
