Lauren was voted out of The X Factor on Sunday evening

The X Factor contestant bid an emotional farewell to the competition on Sunday night following a sing-off with her "best friend in the house" Ché Chesterman, and admitted that going head to head with her friend was the reason she got so upset on stage.

"That's why I was crying because obviously we're just so close and to be in the bottom two was bad, but to go up against your best friend in the house and we're so close - that was when I was like, 'I can't do it'."

She added: "I wasn't upset about the competition, at the end of the day, it's not even in our hands it's in the public's hands. I was upset about singing against Ché."

Lauren faced close friend Che in the sing-off

Lauren is now backing Ché to win the competition, but believes he faces some strong competition from his fellow finalists, predicting popular duo Reggie and Bollie may be crowned this year's winners.

"Do you know what, I think Reggie and Bollie might actually win," Lauren said. "But I would love Ché to win. All of them are amazing, they all deserve to be there."

Lauren will be supporting them all at The X Factor live finals on Saturday, before winding down to enjoy Christmas after her "crazy experience" on the show over the last few months.

"Oh my God, I think I deserve a holiday 100 per cent," she says of her Christmas plans. "Anywhere hot!"
