Nick Grimshaw has revealed that he chose to quit The X Factor because he was working "all the time". The 31-year-old explained that his early starts to present his BBC Radio 1 Breakfast show combined with working through until midnight on the entertainment show started to take its toll.
"I love going to work and I like to be busy. But doing X Factor and the radio was work all the time," Nick told the Daily Star. "I was doing the show in the morning and then working on X Factor from midday to midnight. It was every day."

He added: "I will miss X Factor but I don't regret my decision to go. There hadn't been any discussions when I made my decision. So I thought before there were months of speculation over who was going to be back. I'd say I didn't want to and get it out of the way."
"Once I decided, I'd decided and that was it. But X Factor hasn't put me off TV at all."
Nick announced that he was leaving the ITV entertainment show after just one series in February, saying that it had been a "once-in-a-lifetime experience".

Just days later Olly Murs stepped down as a co-presenter to focus on his music career, and Caroline Flack followed shortly after, saying she'd had a "brilliant time" hosting the main show in 2015.
The exit of Nick, Caroline and Olly has already triggered speculation over who will take their places when the show returns in August. While Louis Tomlinson has been tipped to take Nick's seat on the judging panel, it has also been suggested that Dermot O'Leary could return to host The X Factor after previously quitting the show in 2015.
