Watch this former Coronation Street star stun on Britain's Got Talent

When Rachael Wooding made her debut on Britain's Got Talent on Saturday night, viewers were left stunned by her breathtaking musical performance. But fans may have also been wondering where they had seen the pretty blonde before.

Rachael has actually made cameo performances on Coronation Street in the past. The actress-turned-singer appeared in the popular soap in 2008 as a beautician. She again featured briefly as Izzy Armstrong's friend Mandy, who had a romance with Kirk Sutherland.

Rachael Wooding performed With You from Ghost

Starring on Britain's Got Talent, Rachael explained that she was making her comeback to the stage, just 11 months after welcoming her baby daughter and first child with her husband.

The 37-year-old sang her own version of With You from Ghost – and left the audience and the judges slack-jawed at her performance.

The singer has played cameo roles on Coronation Street

Head honcho Simon Cowell described the "perfect silence" in the venue, as Rachael performed. "This was the most beautiful version of this song I've ever heard," he said afterwards.

David Walliams also tweeted "My God this girl is good" while Alesha Dixon posted "Stunning. Great girl, great voice!"

Rachael later took to Twitter to thank her new fans, writing: "Thank you all SO much everyone! So grateful for all the amazing words/tweets/messages/love!! Beyond happy!!"

Rachael has an 11-month-old daughter

The former Corrie star is already a well-known West End performer. She showed off her vocal talents playing lead female role Scaramouche in We Will Rock You. She has also featured as Mary Delgado in Jersey Boys.

Explaining her decision to audition for Britain's Got Talent, Rachael said: "I was playing the lead in We Will Rock You until 2014 when I became pregnant with my daughter Amelia.

"It wasn't until she was nearly a year old that I thought, 'Why not go on Britain's Got Talent?'"
