Harry Styles caused excitement amongst fans when it emerged he was filming his movie debut Dunkirk in Dorset on Monday. Crowds gathered outside Swanage train station in the hope of catching a glimpse of the One Direction star, who has spent the past few weeks filming the WWII movie abroad.

The 22-year-old was seen on location in a green military uniform with his newly-cropped locks slicked back and dirt smudged across his face. Harry appeared unfazed by the attention surrounding his appearance and remained focused on the job, filming scenes on board a vintage steam train.

The History singer was pictured reaching out of the train window to talk to fellow cast members and swig bottles of beer. He has been filming the Christopher Nolan movie for the past few weeks and has quickly won over the cast and crew with his work ethic and personality.

Chatting to the Evening Standard, Harry's co-star Mark Rylance said: "I didn't know anything about him really other than my 12-year-old niece played me a music video. She adores him. There are girls all over the place trying to get to him - he is one handsome fella with an incredible smile and eyes."

"What's really surprised me is he's really witty, really funny - he really makes me laugh. He's been ever so brave, not making any fuss."

Mark continued to say: "He seems remarkable ... one of those people - Sean Penn has it too - a kind of panache. I look at them and think, 'How did you get that? How do you get so that life is easy?' But he has got a lovely, lovely character. It's a gift."

Meanwhile casting director John Papsidera opened up about why he chose Harry for the role, saying: "Harry was absolutely right for the role. As an actor he is unknown, but his readings made him an obvious choice. We thought he was fresh and interesting and he won the role."
