It has only been five years since Benedict Clarke graced our screens in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, but he is almost unrecognisable now. The actor was 15 when he played a young Severus Snape in the final Harry Potter film and he has changed significantly in the years that have followed.

With his long dark brown locks and pale skin, Ben was the perfect choice to portray a younger version of Severus during a key scene where Harry visits his professor's memories.

However it appears Benedict has since taken a step back from acting, and has only appeared in three shorts since his movie debut. He acted in Awkward Facades in 2011 followed by drama In the Wake of Sirens in 2012, and most recently starred in Andys, a dystopian adventure that was released in 2014.

Instead he has recently enjoyed a road trip around the US with a group of friends, taking in the sights of Chicago, Colorado and California and sharing his adventures on Instagram.

Now 20, Ben still has long brown hair which he tends to wear slicked back from his face in a series of selfies that have earned him a new legion of female fans.

"Baby snape all grown up," one commented on one of Ben's photos. Another commented: "Baby snape is so cute!"

Benedict is not the only former Harry Potter star to undergo a transformation in the years that have passed since the films were released. Josh Herdman, who played Draco Malfoy's right-hand man Gregory Goyle in the franchise, surprised fans when he emerged as a cage fighter in April – but he hasn't given up on his acting career.

The 28-year-old told the Mirror: "I haven't fallen out of love with it, I still have an agent and I still go for auditions. It's just a little bit like playing the lottery for a living. "I don't see it so much as a career change, I am passionate about both acting and fighting."
