Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious news Mary Poppins fans – the upcoming Disney remake could see two very famous faces return to our screens. E! reports that Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke are in talks to appear in Mary Poppins Returns, over fifty years after they first played the film's leading roles.
However it is not clear what part Julie, 80, and Dick, 90, would play, and a rep for the Oscar winning actress says there have been "no discussions" about the stars appearing in the film.

Slated for a December 2018 release, Mary Poppins Returns sees British actress Emily Blunt starring as Mary, while Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda will play street lamplighter Jack, a new character to the series.
It has also been reported that Meryl Streep could soon join the cast in the role of Mary Poppins' cousin Topsy, another supporting role that wasn't seen in the original 1964 film.
If she does land the role, it would mark the third time Meryl and Emily have worked together, following on from their starring appearances in The Devil Wears Prada and Disney's Into the Woods.

The sequel is based on the original Mary Poppins stories written by P.L. Travers, and will follow a grown-up Jane and Michael Banks, who – along with Michael's children – are visited by Mary and her friend Jack following a personal loss.
The film is one of a number of Disney films to get a live-action, modern remake in coming years. While the star-studded Beauty and the Beast and Alice through the Looking Glass remakes are already in production, a number of Disney's animated classics will also be reworked in the next two years.
Angelina Jolie will reprise her role as Maleficent in a follow-up to the 2014 film, and director Jon Favreau will revisit the story of man-cub Mowgli for The Jungle Book 2, following the recent success of the live-action film. Meanwhile director Tim Burton has been confirmed to shoot a modern retelling of Dumbo, and Reese Witherspoon will play a leading role in Tinker Bell, a remake of Disney's Peter Pan. Jungle Cruise – a film based on a theme park ride and starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will also soon go into production.
