Cheryl has sent a sweet message to Scarlett Moffatt after she was crowned queen of the jungle on Sunday night. The 33-year-old star – who, like Scarlett, hails from the North East – took to Twitter shortly after Scarlett won the 2016 series of I'm A Celebrity, writing: "Awwww bless her congratulations @ScarlettMoffatt." Cheryl also praised the comedian Joel Dommett, who came second, tweeting: "Joel was great too. Amazing final 3! #ImACeleb."

Cheryl wasn't the only one celebrating Scarlett's victory. Phillip Schofield also took to social media to show his support. "From the moment I read @ScarlettMoffatt was going into the #ImACeleb jungle, she was my winner, well done darlin'." Alan Carr, meanwhile, tweeted: "Loving @Scarlett Moffatt and the montage of #ImACeleb - #legend."

Scarlett herself was visibly shocked when she was told she had won the 16th series of the show. The Gogglebox star, who started watching I'm A Celeb when she was just ten-years-old, struggled to contain her emotions as she sat down with host Ant and Dec.

"I might be the only person who ever says this, but I wish I could do it all again," she said. "It's just amazing. I've never been so happy, which is weird because I hate camping! I'm not going to miss sleeping in a hammock, but I'm going to miss waking up and hearing everyone chatting. It's just been amazing."

The 26-year-old added: "It's been a massive learning curve; I feel like I need to have more confidence in myself because I doubt myself constantly. Doing the trials and stuff, I feel like a much more confidant person coming on here. I didn't expect it to have any life effects on me, I just thought it was going to be really fun."
