Neighbours fans are in for a shock this week! Ramsay Street will see the return of Dione 'Dee' Bliss, the "dead" wife of Toadfish 'Toadie' Rebecchi on Monday's episode. The character, played by Madeleine West, is making a surprise comeback as Toadie's long lost love - almost 13 years after he accidentally drove her off a cliff on their wedding day.

In a huge twist, Dee will no doubt be a thorn in Toadie and his current wife Sonya's relationship. Sonya, who is currently pregnant as a surrogate with close friends Steph and Mark's baby, fears that Dee's intentions with her husband are not innocent.

The actress, who was a regular on the show from 2000 to 2003, has hinted her character's apperance is set to cause trouble in Toadie's marriage. Speaking with Radio Times, the soap star teased: "There are already a few holes in that relationship and they'll be well and truly blown open by Dee's return. Dee isn’t returning with the intent of luring Toadie away, but her very presence raises a lot of questions. Old emotions are very much coming to the surface."

Madeleine also revealed that Dee has a teenage daughter. "We'll discover that Dee has a daughter called Willow," she explained. "And right from the beginning, she reveals that this is Toadie's daughter and that she was pregnant at the time of the accident."

Since her last appearance on Neighbours, the 36-year-old has gone on to have six children with her restaurateur partner Shannon Bennett. She has also worked on Australian TV shows, House Husbands, Underbelly and The Wrong Girl. Speaking about the past decade, Madeleine added: "I'm a completely different person. Now that I'm a mother of six and have been in a relationship for a very long time, I come to acting with a completely different perspective.

"I have an understanding of vulnerability and a respect for my work. Especially how wonderful and rare it is to have a job doing what you love. As a young actor, it's all about the glitz and the glamour and not so much about the essence of the work. So that’s something I've learned over time."

Dee's return on Neighbours will air on Monday January 23 at 5.30pm on Channel 5.
