Vogue Williams has become the first casualty of The Jump 2017. The 31-year-old Irish model has been forced to pull out of the Channel 4 show before an episode even aired, after suffering a knee injury while training for the ski cross. She has been replaced in the celebrity line-up by former I'm A Celebrity star Amy Willerton. Vogue took to Instagram to confirm the news, and share her disappointment with fans.

"So disappointed to be out of The Jump this year," the TV personality wrote. "I've had such an amazing time and met the best people whilst learning such a cool skill. My knee will heal and if the show comes back next year I'll be in it to win it." Stand-in Amy has also shared an update.

The 24-year-old reality star, who has been training alongside the celebs in Innsbruck, Austria, said: "This experience has gone from being an exciting over-extended ski holiday to suddenly overnight throwing myself into competition mode. But I'm so ready for that challenge! I hope I can do Vogue proud."

Vogue's disappointment is understandable. Just last week she shared her excitement at taking part in The Jump in an exclusive interview with HELLO! magazine. "The training's going so well, all of us are just really loving it. We've done slalom and snowcross, and we did a skeleton, which is my favourite thing to do," she said.

Amy Willerton has stepped in to replace Vogue

Asked what made her want to take part in the show, Vogue replied: "Oh my god, I wanted to be in The Jump last year. I was out here last year and trying to convince people to let me do it, so I’m delighted to be part of it this time round.” The star identified Spencer Matthews as her "biggest competition", but said all the contestants had a healthy competitive streak. "We all do want to win, but it makes everyone try harder, which is a great thing to have on the slopes," she said. "I'm very competitive, I sort of can't help myself. I'm trying my best, but I would be happy at this stage to get to the final."

The Jump has made a name for itself as one of the most dangerous reality shows on TV, and Vogue was also asked about the risk of injury. "Nobody's hurt themselves on this show so far – touch wood. But it's a sports show, so we have to expect that it could happen. We have physio and gets sports massages and coaches on the slopes, so it's not like we're on our own. So you do feel safe with them there to watch you and give you tips."
