A new landmark film, based on the life and work of Diana, Princess of Wales, will be released later this year to mark the 20th anniversary of her death, ITV have announced. The rare documentary will feature many key figures in her life as well as her two sons Prince William and Prince Harry, both of whom talk openly about their mother and how her influence has shaped their lives. Last month, William and Harry opened up about their suffering following the death of their mother, and how the unfortunate circumstance had brought them closer together. "Both of us have always been open to each other, but we've never really talked about it," revealed Harry, 32, in a video for Heads Together. "We've never really talked about losing a mum at such a young age." Prince Harry was just 12, while William, 35, was 15 when their mother died in a tragic road accident in Paris in 1997.

He added: "You then when you speak to other people's families and little kids, you think 'wow I don't want them to have to go through the same things'. You want to with a little bit of experience, you want to help as much as you can and try to empower them to have that conversation. You want it to be brave for themselves to talk about it at a young age rather than bottling it up for far too long." William went on to note that it was their mother's death which had brought them closer together. He explained: "But we have been brought closer because of the circumstances as well, that's the thing. You know you are uniquely bonded because of what we have been through. But you know, even Harry and I over the years have not talked enough about our mother."
