They both have strong opinions

Emma Watson once said: "I'm going to do what I want to do. I'm going to be who I really am. I'm going to figure out what that is." Really, JK Rowling could have written these words for Hermione and they would have fitted in perfectly. From creating SPEW (Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare) to helping to form Dumbledore's Army, Hermione has never shied away from doing whatever she wants, no matter what anyone thinks.

The pair are happiest when talking about books

"It sounds so geeky, but I really do like studying and reading, and if I'm not working on 'Harry Potter,' then my greatest relaxation is to sit with a book." Need we say more? Emma, like Hermione, has her own distinctive sense of style. Of course, Hermione's usual vibe was a school uniform accessorised by two dozen books or so, but on the night of the Yule Ball she expresses herself in a pretty gown complete with newly sleek and shiny hair. As Emma previously said: "I'm a multidimensional person and that's the freedom of fashion: that you're able to reinvent yourself through how you dress and how you cut your hair or whatever." We think she might be speaking about herself and her alter-ego on this occasion!

They are courageous

This could almost have been Hermione's motto throughout the seven books! Although she was perhaps the most cautious of the trio, and was definitely scared at times, she did whatever it took to save her friends!

Like Hermione always does with her books, Emma loves to be transported by a good book. She said: "I like books that aren't just lovely but that have memories in themselves. Just like playing a song, picking up a book again that has memories can take you back to another place or another time."
