From brunette beauty to blonde bombshell: Natalie Portman reveals new 'do for movie role

Natalie Portman is no stranger to drastic hair transformations.

She famously shaved her head to play Evey Hammond in V for Vendetta and rocked a pink wing to portray a stripper in Closer.

Now, the actress has dyed her brunette locks honey blonde for a new film role.

She debuted the new 'do on the red carpet for the premire of LA Dance Project, which is presented by her husband Benjamin Millepied.

Speaking at the event, Natalie revealed that her family still needs time to get used to her new look.

"My mom says I look like a different person," said the actress, who had paired her new tresses with a dazzling Dior Couture gown.

"I did it just a couple of days ago," she added, revealing that LA based colourist Tracey Cunningham was behind the new ‘do.

And Tracey told US Weekly what she thought of Natalie’s transformation.

"Natalie makes a beautiful blonde!" she said.

"She needed to make the change for an upcoming movie role, and using Redken's Blonde Dimensions we achieved a gorgeous, multi-dimensional golden blonde."

It hasn’t yet been confirmed which film the actress is set to star in.
