The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, seems to be moving away from her signature hairstyle, the Chelsea blowdry. The pregnant royal has been shunning her trademark cascading curls for intricate updos recently and today she stepped out sporting a high ponytail with volume at the crown.

Kate, who was carrying out an official engagement for East Anglia Children's Hospices, was radiant in a red Katherine Hooker dress for the event.

Just days earlier, the expectant mum wowed with a half-up, half-down 'do that featured intricate plait detailing when she hosted an event for the children's mental health charity Place2Be in Kensington Palace.

And earlier in the month, Kate attended the Royal Variety Performance with Prince William wearing a voluminous updo.
