A guide to summer holiday beauty preparation

Everyone is beach-body ready when it comes to weight, shape and size. But there are certain beauty routines that help boost our confidence when baring all in a bikini – here are our top summer grooming tips…

Fight the fuzz

To avoid having to shave every day of your holiday, try epilating. We recommend one from Braun's Silk-Epil range, which work by gently plucking hair from the root with a series of tweezers that grab even the smallest of hairs, meaning regrowth is minimal.

If you do feel like you need to shave during that in-between period, try Venus' first ever portable razor, Snap with Embrace.

Fake a tan

A golden glow can make your body look more toned – especially when applied to specific areas. St Tropez Tanning Expert Jules Heptonstall recommends applying more product to "areas that naturally indent. Use a mitt to sweep an extra layer of tan in between the bust, under the collarbone, on the biceps and the inner thighs. Use a buffing mitt or flannel to gently rub around the outer areas to blend the edges."

Tend to your tresses

Get your hair in good shape and condition before going away – visit a salon to get rid of any damaged and split ends. HELLO!'s go-to salon is Richard Ward in Sloane Square, London.

While you're away, it's important to protect your hair from the sun, sea and chlorinated water. We love Mark Hill's Hair Cover Up Protection Spray (£5.99) – it prevents the scalp from drying out and stops colour fading.

Nail it

Get your toes in tip-top condition before heading away. We're huge fans of a Bio Sculpture Gel pedicure – it's a non-chip, high-shine finish that lasts for six weeks (biosculpture.co.uk).

If you only follow one piece of beauty advice this summer, make it sun protection. Stock up with Eucerin Skincare products - they offer SPF for lots of different skin types.
