Tried and tested: Summer bronzers

Whether you’re jetting off to sunnier climes or not, a healthy glow is just one swoosh away thanks to these new beautifying bronzers – from the spray-on formula to a super matte compact, we’ve got your summer sunshine fix sorted…

Givenchy Croisière Brume Bonne Mine Powder Spray £38

Possibly the most high-tech bronzer we’ve tested, this sprays on like a mist but with an airbrushed finish - better than any Instagram filter. Covering blemishes as well as leaving a natural tan behind, this can be layered depending on how dark you want to go.

Guerlain Terracotta Terre D’Été Illuminating Limited Edition Bronzing Powder £47.50

This supersized compact is perfect for swirling all over the face, neck and décolleté and the metallic sheen makes it best for those balmy evenings on holiday – we doubled up and used it as an eyeshadow too.

Smashbox Bronze Lights Warm Matte Bronzer £25

For a daytime tan, this matte bronzer is a more natural alternative to the shimmery formulas. We ran it under our cheekbones, along the jawline, the inner bridge of the nose and into the hairline to give our face a chiseled contour.

Giorgio Armani Maestro Liquid Summer £39

We applied this all over our face before foundation with a brush, for a bronzed base then built it up over the areas where the sun naturally hits – the apples of the cheeks, chin and forehead for a darker glow. It’s super dewy so if your skin is parched from the sun this is a more hydrating option. This gets a gold star from our Beauty Writer Gabriella.
