Supermodel Twiggy, 65, is the new face of L'Oreal Professionel, the French beauty brand's haircare range. The British beauty first burst onto the scene when she was 16 years old with her now world-famous blond pixie cut, and five decades later is still a beauty icon. "In a way it was the hair that kicked the whole thing off," she told Vogue, speaking about her successful modelling career. "Which is why this partnership with L'Oreal Professionel is a nice one."

"Daniel Galvin as the one who did my colour back in 1966 for those famous shots, and he did my colour again for this shoot, so it's come full circle," she added. In the campaign images, Twiggy shows off her supermodel status as she poses in a cream suit with dazzling jewellery, her famous blonde locks now a shoulder-length style with a full fringe. The London-born icon, who follows in the footsteps of previous ambassadors including Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Blake Lively, revealed that she was hoping to inspire women to be confident through the campaign.

"I hope to inspire women to be confident in their personal style and never be afraid of trying something new," she admitted. "What is there not to love about Twiggy?" L'Oreal Professionnel UK general manager Cass Coulston told the Telegraph. "She has always inspired women to look and feel their best." Twiggy is not the only icon to have recently lent her name to the French beauty giant. Dame Helen Mirren was recently revealed as the new face of L'Oreal Paris, joining the likes of Beyoncé and Lara Stone as a brand ambassador. "I am not gorgeous and I never was," said the BAFTA-winning actress. "I was always OK looking and I'm keen to stay that way." "I have always loved the L'Oreal Paris brand and I hope I can inspire other women towards greater confidence by making the most of their natural good looks," she added. "We are all worth it!"
