"Organizing & cleaning up before bed and waist training at the same time!" she captioned the photo. "Thank you to the one and only@premadonna87 @pre_shop #Premadonna87 #whatsawaist.com." Waist training involves working out while wearing a lace-up corset which is said to gradually reduce the size of your waist making for a defined hourglass figure. The idea is that the tight compression will reduce your food intake, making or smaller meals more often, rather than three large meals a day. However, eating a healthy diet and undertaking regular exercise alongside training reportedly helps those working out to achieve better results quickly. Kim has been a huge fan of the fitness technique for months, sharing photos of herself in the corsets on numerous occasions, both at home and at the gym. She isn't the only member of her family to turn to waist training to get in shape – sisters Khloé and Kourtney have also revealed they use the corsets and have shared photos of themselves at home during training.

However, Dr Ayham Al-Ayoubi, a surgeon at the London Medical and Aesthetic Clinic, has revealed that he believes using a waist trainer alone isn't the most effective way to see results, and that the misuse of them could be detrimental to your health. "There is no medical evidence that the waist trainer helps with weight loss," he said. "It disrupts manoeuvrability during a workout and even prevents you from taking deep breaths. "The appearance of losing weight is caused by the loss of water in the body from sweating and definitely not from the burning of fats. The pressure the waist trainer would have to put on the body to reduce the fat cells would be extremely damaging and would cause bruising of the skin." "The emphasis should be about making healthy lifestyle changes that promote a proper diet and exercise to optimise a person's health and ultimately, their figure," he added.
