Simon Cowell has admitted to getting carried away with anti-ageing treatments including Botox. The X Factor mogul made the confession after former judge Sharon Osbourne poked fun at him, saying: "His face is so full of filler it doesn't move. At least mine screws up."

Speaking to The Mirror, Simon confided he has tried to scale back his Botox treatments but is still a "sucker" for believing in obscure beauty treatments.

Simon Cowell has admitted to having too much Botox

"Hopefully I look better now – I probably did have a little too much Botox a couple of years ago, because everyone on TV has it," Simon confided. "Now I have facials, but nothing too extravagant at the moment. I have a girl who comes here and does a great face massage – it's very relaxing."

The image-conscious star also opened up about the other unusual treatments he has tried in a bid to keep wrinkles at bay.

"I also had a sheep placenta facial once, which was quite out there," he admitted. "Then Sinitta recommended I try another detoxifying machine, and this thing turned up in my bedroom and it was like something out of Dr Who. It was like a spaceship had landed in my bedroom.

Sharon Osbourne joked that Simon's face doesn't move because of his Botox

"This guy turns up and locks me in it, and then spends the next 90 minutes pitching TV shows."

Now Simon is leaning towards more traditional remedies to stay in good health – regular exercise and taking his vitamins.

Simon explained: "I work out three or four times a week, I have Botox, take tons of vitamins and vitamin infusions – if you believe that these things work, you will feel better."

The 56-year-old will undoubtedly be ensuring he looks his best for the return of the X Factor live shows on Saturday. Simon, who is mentor of the 'Overs' category, will be striving for success with his three contestants – Bupsi Brown, Anton Stephans and Max Stone.
