Anne's Oscar 'do not only needed to wow on the red carpet but it had to stay in place during her musical duet

She may have been up for the best actress Oscar, but Rachel Getting Married star Anne Hathaway decided to lighten up proceedings by performing a fun musical duet with host Hugh Jackman, which went down a storm.

But it proved challenging for her hairdresser, Danilo, who's Pantene Pro-V's official celebrity stylist.

"The style was inspired by several things - Anne's glossy, healthy looking hair, her stunning gown and her showbiz needs on the night, because the style needed to stay securely in place during the routine," he tells us. "The style is what I call a ‘chic tuck away'.

"Much like the young Audrey Hepburn, young actresses such as Anne are dressing it up. It looks young and fresh yet mature on them."

Danilo used Pantene Pro-V Volume & Body Seriously Body Boosting Mousse on the roots for added oomph and, once dry, took one-and-a-half inch sections and wound round the same size tong to give hair a wave for that added glamour.

"Once it had cooled I brushed out her set hair and then created a deep side parting and fringe and pinned the length of her hair into a low knotted loose chignon," Danilo continues.

"I left it a little tussled for a younger contemporary chic. The finishing touch was to accessorise the hair with an amazing vintage Cartier broach."
