The Work hitmaker delighted her 44.6 million Instagram followers when she posted a rare selfie, posing with her back to a mirror in her room to show off the dreadlocks.
Ever the style icon, Rihanna looked effortlessly cool as she posed in an oversized jumper dress in the black-and-white snap, simply captioning it "buffalo $oldier", a reference to Bob Marley's hit song. Within hours the candid photo garnered millions of likes, with compliments pouring in from her legions of fans.
She has rocked waist-length hair before
It's not the first time that Rihanna has rocked waist-length tresses. The We Found Love singer gave fans major hair envy when she unveiled her Fenty Puma collection at New York Fashion Week, turning heads with a poker straight long hairstyle for ultimate daytime glamour.
A new hairstyle isn't the only change Rihanna has made to her look in recent months. She recently showed off her edgy side when she opted for a new tattoo, sparking speculation in the process that the inking is a tribute to boyfriend Drake.
Fans speculated that her latest tattoo is a tribute to boyfriend Drake
The design closely resembles a stuffed toy shark which Rihanna was spotted carrying after she enjoyed a night out with the Hotline Bling rapper at Ripley's Aquarium in Toronto, with many believing the toy was a gift from the rapper.
To create the striking artwork, which is placed on her left ankle, Rihanna turned to celebrity tattooist Bang Bang. The New York-based artist gave his Instagram followers a first glimpse of her tattoo, sharing a black-and-white photo of the Umbrella hitmaker's ankles, as she proudly showed off her new inking in a pair of lace-up shoes.
The reports were further fuelled when Drake himself was spotted sporting a matching shark tattoo during a concert, with eagle-eyed fans spotting the small inking on the inside of his arm.
