Fans did a double take as Daisy Ridley took to the stage at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens turned heads with a completely new hairstyle, having changed both the colour and length of her trademark long brown hair.

The 24-year-old has embraced one of the summer's biggest hair trends and joined the bob brigade, opting to have inches chopped off her hair into a short bob with choppy layers to add volume.
However, she didn't just stop at the length, having dyed her light brown tresses a fiery shade of glossy red, for an edgy finish. This marks a major change for the actress, who has not strayed from brunette hues before.

It proved to be a particularly memorable night for Daisy, who took home the Breakout Star award for her role in the latest Star Wars film, in which she starred opposite Harrison Ford and John Boyega.
During her acceptance speech, she took the time to give a shoutout to John, who was also nominated. "It feels incredible to be in this category, with amazing people, especially my boy John!" she told the audience, with her new surfboard in hand.

Currently filming the next instalment of the Star Wars series, where she plays character Rey, Daisy recently had her Instagram followers in giggles when she shared a beauty mishap she suffered.

Posting a short video, Daisy admitted that she accidentally dyed her skin yellow after trying a homemade face mask.
"So I'm having a slight 'mare because I googled 'at home remedies for skin'," she explained to her 2.3 million followers. "And I may have been slightly liberal with the turmeric… and now my hands are dyed yellow – and I have filming tomorrow!"
However, the star showed off her sense of humour and laughed off the situation, later quipping: "We do have filming tomorrow and it's not Minions 2, it is Star Wars Episode 8. So um, I'll keep you posted everyone because this could either be a really bad thing or a really good thing, and I'm going to say good thing."
