With one person diagnosed with breast cancer every 11 minutes, it remains the most common form of cancer in the UK.
And with Breast Cancer Awareness Month upon us for the whole of October, it’s possible to support the cause while buying your beauty essentials and treats. Here’s how:
*Estee Lauder is the company that actually founded the awareness month 16 years ago so is at the forefront of fund-raising. The Elizabeth Hurley Lip Collection, £20, includes a lipstick, gloss and lip pencil selected by the model and presented in a pink lipstick case with a mirror, £5 from which will go to Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s research study at the Royal Marsden in London until October 31.
*Bobbi Brown will be donating, throughout October, the entire purchase price (less VAT) from the Limited Edition Lip Set, £28, featuring an exclusive new shade of creamy Lip Colour and a limited edition Glitter Lip Balm.
*Elemis has a limited edition Breast Cancer Care collection, Essential Beauty Secrets, containing Lifting Treatment Neck and Bust, Marine Cream, Oxygenating Night Cream from the award-winning Pro-Collagen collection and Papaya Enzyme Cream in a rather fetching fuschia-pink cosmetic bag.
And there’s a 5-Step Breast Check inside, too. The kit’s £50, saving more than £75 if the products were brought separately and Elemis has pledge a donation of £10,000 to Breast Cancer Care from this promotional campaign.
*Bionsen deodorants will donate 10p from its aluminium- and paraben-free deodorants bought online at www.bodyhealthdebate.com to Against Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Care and to Pink Ribbon campaign from those bought at Tesco.
*ghd’s Pink Limited Edition box set, £135, will see £10 from each sold going to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. You’ll get a baby pink IV-model straightener with matching plates in a heat-resistant pouch, tote bag, brush and sectioning clips, all in pink, too. From approved salons and www.ghdhair.com.
