Laura Trott and her fiancé Jason Kenney both had a record-breaking day at Rio 16 yesterday when they broke World and Olympic records in their respective events.
Both Laura's and Jason's parents were cheering them on in the velodrome at Rio's Olympic Park. "I felt so proud watching Laura, Jason and the rest of Team GB competing yesterday," Laura's mum Glenda told HELLO!. "We always take our Union Jack flag to wave in the stadium and cheer them on as loudly as we can!"
Laura was competing in the Team Pursuit event and set a new World Record. Jason also set an Olympic record as part of the Team Sprint. He won gold alongside team members Philip Hindes and Callum Skinner.
Glenda, who is part of P&G's Thank You Mum campaign, will be staying in Rio with her husband Adrian to watch the rest of Laura's competitions. Laura and Jason will have another reason to celebrate after the Olympics when they tie the knot.
