Martine McCutcheon has described body shaming as "dangerous"

"People spoke about me like I was a piece of meat and I can't believe that's still going on in this day and age," she told The Mirror. "I'm sure people still say horrible things now, but it's water off a duck's back because I have an anchor within myself. But it's so dangerous when you are younger."

When it comes to facing body shaming issues, Martine revealed she believes women should unite and support each other.

"We're bright women, intelligent and more savvy than ever and I think more than ever we should have each other's' back and move on," she explained.

Martine and Jack welcomed baby Rafferty last year

The singer and actress admitted that although she felt a lot of pressure because she was "growing up in the public eye", nowadays she feels more confident and doesn't worry about the opinions of others.

"It took a long time to get my head round that," she explained. "Growing up in the public eye, you are judged by everybody and you work hard to try to keep everyone happy. Now I don’t care what people think."

The actress revealed motherhood changed her health and fitness "priority"

It seems that motherhood also played a key role in helping to change the star's outlook on all things health and fitness. The British beauty confessed that since she and husband Jack McManus welcomed their first son Rafferty in February last year, her "priority" when it comes to staying in shape has changed.

"But getting pregnant and having Rafferty made me realise my priority now is to be healthy and stay that way rather than try to stick to something I could never maintain," she said.

She added: "I am so bored of the weight loss rollercoaster."
