Hilary Duff often encourages her social media followers to embrace their bodies, and now the 28-year-old has once again inspired her fans when it comes to positive body image. The former Lizzie McGuire star has spoken candidly about celebrating her post-baby body, especially during the summer holidays when she hits the beach in a bikini.

Hilary Duff has spoken candidly about body confidence

"I don't care to look absolutely perfect in a bathing suit," Hilary told Today.com. "I'm a normal girl. I'm strong. I'm fit. I feel good about myself after I've had a baby."

Hilary, who has a four-year-old son named Luca, admitted that although she does have insecurities, she tries not to let them affect her daily life.

"I go through ups and downs, being like, 'Damn I'm fit right now', and 'OK, I'm letting things slide a little' and I'm totally fine with that," she revealed.

The star has previously encouraged fans to embrace their bodies

It's not the first time that Hilary has celebrated her post-pregnancy body during bikini season. The A Cinderella Story actress had jaws dropping to the floor last year when she shared a gorgeous selfie during an exotic family holiday, as she proudly showed off her toned physique with a revealing Instagram picture.

"Hey #moms #westillgot it#loveyourbod," she captioned the picture, which showed her smiling in front of a mirror while wearing a black bandeau bikini with scalloped detailing.

Hilary and Mike's divorce was finalised earlier this year

The blonde beauty was soon flooded with compliments and praise from her six million Instagram followers, many who thanked her for the inspiring message.

It's no doubt been a busy few months for the star, who has been hard at work on new projects including TV series Younger. It's also proven to no doubt be a hectic time for the star, whose divorce from hockey player Mike Comrie was finalised in February earlier this year – a year after Hilary filed for divorce.

However, the star remained positive, opening up to People in April 2015, just months after the news of the couple's split was announced. "I went through my highs and lows," the Material Girls star said. "But at the end of the day, I wouldn't change anything. I feel happy. And I'm excited about everything I have."
