Star gymnast Simone Biles wins another Olympic gold medal

Simone Biles is often described as the world's greatest gymnast, and has once again proven her incredible talent after winning the women's all-round gold medal at the Rio Olympic Games.  

The 19-year-old, who has already won women's team all-round as part of Team USA, scored 62.198 points to win her second gold medal while fellow team member Alexandra Raisman won the silver and Russia's Aliya Mustafina took home the bronze.

Simone took home her second Olympic gold medal

The margin between Simone and Alexandra's score was an incredible 2.1 points, breaking Olympic records from the last half-century. The star performed on bars, an acrobatic beam routine and a floor routine to win first place in the competition.

Famous admirers of the gymnast have been full of praise for her performance, with Hillary Clinton tweeting: "Congrats on bringing home the gold and silver, Simone and Aly. We’re all so proud of you," while Kim Kardashian praised the gymnast on her website, writing: "She's just SO insanely talented and has worked so hard to get where she is."

Fans of the gymnast have also taken to Twitter to express their awe at her performance, with one writing: "Simone Biles is so good even gravity is like 'u know what, I'll just take a seat while you flip in the air 5 times'", while another joked: "You can do anything you set your mind to. Except for Simone Biles's floor routine."

Simone broke the Olympic records from the last half-century

Speaking about her historical win, Simone said: "I'm very excited and relieved, I've finally done it. You never know the feeling until it hits you.

"I'm not the next Usain Bolt or Michael Phelps, I'm the first Simone Biles. To me I'm just the same Simone."

Fellow gymnast and silver-medallist Alexander spoke in praise of her fellow teammate, saying: "No-one goes into this thinking they can beat Simone. I'm sure most people don't go into it thinking they can beat Usain Bolt, so it's kind of the same thing.

"We are like sisters. I told her before today, I want you to win and I want second."
