Sophia Bush might be surrounded by junk food while filming on set, but the former One Tree Hill star has revealed how she manages to stay away from temptation with just a few simple diet tricks.

The star spoke to Delish about how she keeps slim despite her hectic lifestyle and joked about avoiding the readily available unhealthy snacks. She said: "Sets are literally the worst place for willpower. There's doughnuts everywhere. There's candy everywhere. There's Doritos everywhere."

Instead, the star revealed that she eats scrambled eggs for breakfast every morning after cutting out diary entirely from her diet. Speaking about the food group, she said: "Dairy does weird things to your body, and your lungs, and it's the same reason I don't eat as many nightshades, because they cause inflammation."

She also tries to prepare her own meals so not to be tempted on set, and opts for soup when it's chilly, making big batches at home. Sophia revealed that she will always have seaweed handy as her go-to snack, joking: "I cannot get enough of them. I honestly go through box after box. I just can't handle it."

The 34-year-old's Instagram account is testament to her passion for good food; she recently shared a snap of herself meeting US celebrity chef Rick Bayless. She captioned the post: "I shamelessly fanboy chefs. The foodie in me loses all ability to be 'cool' and I tend to babble about how their creativity inspires me and why.

"When a chef I LOVE also happens to have the sickest eye for design, and explains his beautiful restaurant to me in intricate design terms, my heart and brain basically explode simultaneously."

The Chicago PD actress certainly isn't against having a cheat day every now and again either, as she joked: "Last week, a bunch of our cast and some of our writers went out to Mozza, and I ate – I swear to you – my body weight in burrata, and was like, 'Byyye! I don't care, keep it coming!'"
