There's no escaping the trend for dramatic red lips this season. And it looks set to continue, according to session make-up artist Pat McGrath, who added a vivid red 'statement lip' to her work for Sienna and Savannah Miller’s Twenty8Twelve label at London Fashion Week. But this time, Pat added a layer of coral colour over the top, finishing with a slightly neutralising neutral shade of balm, using Max Factor's Intensely Red, Bewitching Coral with Xperience Sheer Glossbalm in Nude, £6.99 (available from October).
The lips stood out against a natural, youthful complexion – a look Pat describes as 'fresh, dewy skin and a pop of hot red on the lips'. The aim for skin was to look warm and slightly bronzed using a shade of bronzer slightly darker than the models’ natural skintone with a bronzing blush over a mousse foundation (all Max Factor products – Natural Minerals Bronzer in Sun Powder, £12.99, Natural Minerals Bronzer Blush, £12.99, and Weightless Foundation, £10.99, available from October).Eyes were left natural looking to focus attention on the skin and lips, with just a slick of beige liner and brown mascara. And hair was similarly simple, with just a hint of tousled wave dropping down from a centre parting.
