Laurence Fox debuted a new tattoo on Monday night

The 38-year-old star initially had a tattoo on his arm to commemorate his and Billie's wedding day which read, "Mrs Fox 31 December 2007", with Billie opting for a matching inking.

After the couple were granted a divorce in May, Laurence has since returned to the tattoo parlour, this time choosing another inking to take its place, opting for a large owl design featuring various patterns.

Laurence and Billie shocked fans in March when they announced their split in March. A brief statement was posted on Laurence's official Facebook, that read: "Laurence Fox and Billie Piper have separated. No third parties are involved. For the sake of our family we request and appeal for space and privacy at this time."

The pair - who have two sons, Winston seven and three-year-old Eugene – were later granted a decree nisi at London Central Family Court. Billie, 33, filed for divorce on the grounds that her marriage to the actor had "irretrievably broken down".

The couple recently ended their eight year marriage

The couple first met while starring together in a play called Treats in 2006, and were married in Eastbourne on New Year's Eve in 2007.

Laurence - a member of the Fox acting dynasty, which includes his uncle Edward Fox and cousins Emilia Fox and Freddie Fox – had previously said that it was "love at first sight" when he first met Billie.

"It absolutely happened when I met Bill. We were in a rehearsal room and I knew there and then she was the one for me", he said in 2010.
