Did actress Jennifer Ellison curry up her baby’s arrival?

Days before she welcomed her first child, Jennifer was spotted going out for a curry with her husband. Despite popular belief, the spicy food did not trigger the arrival of son Bobby

In the week before Jennifer Ellison welcomed her first baby, the heavily pregnant actress was spotted popping out with her husband for a curry; a trick that is commonly believed to bring on labour.

We hope Jen, who welcomed a son called Bobby on Thursday, enjoyed the meal because, unfortunately, our research proves it would have had no other benefit than tingling her tastebuds.

We talked to the Royal College of Midwives where an expert told us spicy food does not trigger childbirth.

The theory may have started when pregnant women were routinely given iron tablets which caused constipation.

Having a curry may have simply relieved the constipation which would give the baby more room to move down towards the cervix, thereby prompting the natural onset of labour.
