Clark Gable's granddaughter Kayley Gable has paid tribute to the late actor by naming her baby boy after her grandfather
Clark Gable's granddaughter Kayley Gable has paid tribute to the late actor by naming her baby boy after her grandfather. The 28-year-old gave birth to Ocean Clark Gable on New Year's Day and later shared the news on her Facebook page. Alongside a photo of the new born she wrote: "My perfect poopie is here!! Born New Year's Day 7 lbs 6oz Ocean Clark Gable my angel!!!!"
TMZ reports that the baby was born three weeks early and had a four day stay at hospital before going home with his doting mother.
The proud mother shared a picture of her son wearing a Babygro emblazoned with his great grandfather's image as he returned home from hospital, telling her friends: "Ocean got home today!!! Xxoo".
The baby would have been Clark Gable's first great grandchild. The actor, who played the iconic role of Rhett Butler in Gone With The Wind, passed away in November 1960 after suffering from coronary thrombosis.
While Kayley never met her famous grandfather, she was still keen to honour her Hollywood connections when naming her baby, who she has since described as "the most beautiful creation".
"My little nugget!!! I now know what my true purpose on this earth was!! I made the most beautiful creation!! Unreal" she wrote, alongside another three images of her son.
The aspiring actress is best known for starring in season one of MTV reality show Paris Hilton's My New BFF in 2008.
