New mother Scarlett Johansson has admitted she was surprised by her daughter's appearance when she was born. The 30-year-old said baby Rose looked completely different to what she'd imagined, but she wouldn't change anything about her.

"When she came out of me, I was so surprised," Scarlett told W magazine. "I had a very strong picture in my mind of what my baby would look like, and, of course, she is completely different."

The actress continued that the five-month-old is: "Perfect, but not what I'd imagined. Now, of course, I can't picture her any other way."

Scarlett Johansson admitted her daughter didn't look as she imagined

Scarlett has previously described the bond she shares with her daughter as "magical".

Speaking out just three months after her arrival, Scarlett told People: "It's wonderful. It's very, very magical – and exhausting.

"The love is just unbelievable. It's very overwhelming," she added of her connection with her baby.

The first-time mum revealed that she has embraced motherhood and is more than happy to be on nappy duty and do the late-night feeds.

"[I do] the whole bit," she said. "I'm nursing and I love it."

Scarlett Johansson married Romain Dauriac in October

Scarlett welcomed her baby daughter with French journalist Romain Dauriac in September. They married in October, although details of their wedding didn't emerge until two months later.

The notoriously private couple, who first started dating in November 2012, said "I do" in a ranch in Montana – away from the spotlight of Hollywood, Scarlett's hometown of New York and Romain's native Paris.

After their nuptials, the newlyweds enjoyed a few days relaxing at the ranch with their daughter. According to eyewitnesses the couple were "really laid back and friendly" and almost always joined by baby Rose.

"They were holding hands and hugging and smiling and flirting with each other," a source told E! News. "You could tell they were really happy."
