Ashlee Simpson is now in the latter stage of her pregnancy, but she isn't letting that put a stop to her exercise regime. The 30-year-old was pictured leaving a Los Angeles gym after a workout with her husband Evan Ross on Tuesday.

The mum-to-be highlighted her growing baby bump in a black zip up top and cropped leggings, and clutched a bottle of water following her workout at celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson's studios. Meanwhile 26-year-old Evan looked relaxed in a white vest and loose-fitting grey trousers as he escorted his expectant wife back to their car.

Ashlee is said to be keen to keep up her workout routine throughout her pregnancy, including taking two to three Cardio Barre ballet dance inspired classes a week.

"She wants to stay fit and strong and maintain a healthy weight. Also to feel good," Richard Giorla, the founder of Cardio Barre told E! News. "The weight and energy makes it more challenging, but she never complains and always gives her best."

The Pieces of Me singer announced that she was expecting her first child with her husband, Diana Ross' son Evan, in December. She has since revealed that the baby is a girl, and said she wanted to find out so they could prepare the nursery for the little one's arrival in the summer.

Ashlee is already a mother to six-year-old Bronx Mowgli, her son with her ex-husband Pete Wentz, and he is said to be excited about having a baby sister.

"I told him pretty early on," Ashlee told People. "And he wanted to have a sister, so he's really excited!"

Hunger Games star Evan is also relishing the prospect of becoming a dad, and recently revealed that his daughter's name would be "different".

"We've got a few ideas but we're keeping that for us," he said on The Wendy Williams Show. "It's not going to be Apple or Orange or anything like that, it’s going to be different though."
