Sophie Ellis Bextor has confirmed that she is pregnant with her fourth child. The singer sparked pregnancy rumours as she showed off a visible bump at a fashion event on Tuesday, but waited to confirm the exciting news on Twitter.

"Hello all. Been finding it a bit nice-but-strange to be congratulated on a pregnancy I haven’t actually announced yet…" Sophie wrote.

The mum-of-three then shared a picture of her husband – The Feeling's bassist Richard Jones – pointing a finger at her stomach, asking: "What do you think, @thefeeling R? Is there a baby in there?"

Richard replied saying: "Yes there is!", leaving Sophie to confirm the news with a final tweet.

"Ah ok, cool! Mystery solved. Baby in autumn. Lovely! As you were. Xx".

Sophie stunned when she made an appearance at Lorraine Kelly's High Street Fashion Awards with a noticeable baby bump on Tuesday. The 36-year-old, who had kept a low profile in recent months, cradled her stomach as she posed on the red carpet.

The singer will celebrate her tenth wedding anniversary with husband Richard in June. The couple have three sons together – Sonny, 11, Kit, six, and three-year-old Ray.

The singer is devoted to her husband and children, and previously told HELLO! Online that the best time is when the family are all together.

"Richard is so kind and funny, he is a good man," she said. "We always make time for ourselves and go on date nights. It's good to sometimes be a bit selfish and ultimately the kids are happy when we're happy."

Sophie added that while she loves the opportunity to travel the world with work, her family come first.

"I do still enjoy travel but being in my own bed at night is perfect. Obviously the best time is when the whole family is together."
