Is Janet Jackson about to become a first-time mother? Numerous media outlets are reporting that the singer, who will be 50 on 16 May, is pregnant. Entertainment Tonight was the first to report the news, while a source told E! News that Janet is in her second trimester after working with a fertility specialist.Janet sparked speculation that she could be expecting a baby with her husband, businessman Wissam Al Mana, 41, when she announced in April that she was postponing her Unbreakable World Tour so she could focus on "planning our family".

"I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family. So I'm going to have to delay the tour," she told fans in a video clip. "Please, if you can, try and understand it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders. I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can. "Janet and Wissam were married in 2012 in a secret ceremony, but they didn't confirm the news until early the following year. Dismissing reports that they were planning an "extravagant wedding", Janet revealed: "Last year we were married in a quiet, private and beautiful ceremony. Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favourite children's charities."

The star postponed her world tour to 'plan' a family

The star has previously spoken about her desire to start a family; in 2009, shortly after her split from longtime boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, Janet told Harper's Bazaar: "Sure, I'd adopt. And I think that if I'm really supposed to have kids, it will happen, if that's God's plan for me. "She also revealed that she would not encourage her children to follow her family into the world of entertainment "unless it was something that they really wanted to do. If they knew what they were up against".
