Congratulations to Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, who have announced the arrival of their second child. Proud father John confirmed the happy news on Twitter on Monday, writing: "What better way to celebrate the 4th… than to announce our 4th family member!!! 2 weeks ago we met our beautiful daughter Violet."

The couple, who have been married since 2010, are already parents to two-year-old daughter Hazel. Speaking to E! News in April, Emily said her little girl was adjusting to the idea of becoming a big sister.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have welcomed a second daughter

"She's sort of coming round to it," the 33-year-old actress said. "She sort of dismissed the idea initially, and she just responded with, 'Nope'. 'Nope,' flat out. We've bought her every single 'I'm a big sister' book that's out there and she's a bookworm, so she's coming around."

Emily, who confirmed her second pregnancy in January, recently spoke about the differences between her two pregnancies in an interview with C Magazine.

"The first pregnancy is the most self-indulgent thing in the world because you get massages and prenatal yoga and hypnotherapy CDs," she said. "During this one I forget that I'm even pregnant. I'm hoisting my two-year-old around!"

The actress kept up a busy schedule throughout her pregnancy

The star maintained a busy schedule throughout her second pregnancy, filming her new movie, The Girl on the Train, and embarking on a promotional tour for The Huntsman: Winter's War.

Similarly, during her first pregnancy, Emily was hard at work shooting Into The Woods – a role that made it easy to hide her growing baby bump.

"In a way, the part was the only one in Hollywood I could still have done, because it didn't matter if I was a bit big — The Baker's Wife eats a lot of buns!" she joked. "But by the end of the shoot, I was about seven months and hiding behind every tree in the woods."
