Prince Félix and Princess Claire of Luxembourg welcome second child

Congratulations to their royal highnesses, Prince Félix and Princess Claire of Luxembourg, who have welcomed their second child into the world. An official statement from the palace announced the happy news, confirming that the couple are now the proud parents of a brand new baby boy, who was delivered at 3.59am on 28 November in Geneva.

The notice also stated that the Prince had stayed by his wife's side throughout the delivery, adding that both mother and baby are doing well. "The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, as well as Mr and Mrs Lademacher and both families are delighted with the news," it concluded.

Prince Félix, 32, and Princess Claire, 31, are already parents to daughter Princess Amalia, who was born on 15 June 2014. News of Claire's second pregnancy was revealed in July, with the royal palace stating that the new arrival would be joining their family in the autumn.

The happy couple announced their engagement in December 2012 and were married the following September. They held two ceremonies: a civil wedding in Konigstein im Taunus in Germany, it being customary that wedding take place in the bride's place of residence, followed by a religious ceremony a few days later in the Basilica of Sainte Marie-Madeleine in Sainte-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, France.

Since then they have resided in the south of France, at the Chateau Les Crostes, a winery that has been owned by Claire's family for a number of years.

Félix, 32, is the second son of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, and is second in line to the throne. His older brother, 35-year-old Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, is married to the Belgian Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy.

Guillaume and Félix also have three younger siblings; Prince Louis, 30, Princess Alexandra, 25, and 24-year-old Prince Sébastien.
