Zoe Hardman has revealed that she saved her daughter's life when she suffered a seizure at just three-months-old – all thanks to the first aid course she had taken five days earlier. The TV presenter, who is sharing her story for the launch of the St John Ambulance Everyday Heroes awards, described the incident as "the worst thing that could ever happen to a parent" when Luna, now six months old, suffered a seizure back in January.

Zoe Hardman revealed she saved her daughter's life when she suffered a seizure at three months old

"I heard this horrible noise on the baby monitor from the nursery, and bolted over there. Luna was shaking and convulsing. She was deathly pale and was having problems breathing," she said. "If I hadn't had the first aid course I wouldn't have known what to do and would probably have panicked. But then the training kicked in and I knew I needed to stay calm. I put her on the floor in the recovery position and called 999."

Thankfully, emergency help arrived within minutes, and they were all rushed to hospital. Zoe, 34 says a urine infection and a fever peak of 40C is believed to have triggered the seizure.

Luna, her daughter with partner Paul Doran Jones, is now well but Zoe has emphasised the importance of the first aid course she took: "If I hadn't known what to do when she had the seizure, it could've been so much worse. It was so lucky that I'd had my first aid training."

Heart FM presenter Zoe and rugby union player Paul welcomed their first child together in September after a gruelling labour that ended with a forceps delivery - a stark contrast to the serene water birth Zoe had planned.

Zoe and fiancé Paul Doran Jones shared the first pictures of Luna with HELLO!

"They don't call it labour for nothing," the new mum told HELLO! at the time. "I felt really quite traumatised afterwards. It was hardcore. It took me a while to process it… I cried a lot about it." Adds the star: "Next time around I'll just have an epidural and a cup of tea."
