It's a very special day for Alex Jones. Her baby son Teddy is celebrating his first birthday, and to mark the landmark occasion, the One Show host took to Instagram to share a very rare family photo showing Alex and her husband Charlie Thomson with their little boy. The snapshot, taken during a recent holiday, shows the trio standing together at the edge of a beach, gazing out to the ocean. Alongside it, proud mum Alex wrote: "We can't believe that our little boy is 1 today. What a year it's been, Teddy has brought more love to our lives than we thought possible. It's also been the steepest of learning curves. We're so grateful for having this tiny man so big in personality in our world. Happy birthday little Ted. Penblwydd hapus Cariad." The 40-year-old star was quickly inundated with birthday messages for her son, with one follower writing: "Happy birthday Teddy! Beautiful photo." A second wrote: "Aw Happy Birthday Ted and well done Alex, you've aced the first year of motherhood."

Following Teddy's arrival in 2017, doting Alex has made a conscious effort to keep his face hidden from public view in order to protect his privacy. But she frequently updates fans on her journey through motherhood – just last week sharing a funny photo of Teddy after he had climbed into an oven drawer. "Turned round and there he was… luckily it's a storage drawer! Morning!!" she wrote alongside.

Alex has said Teddy further strengthened her bond with husband Charlie Thomson

In a recent interview with the Mirror, Alex gave a rare insight into her home life revealing that Teddy had further cemented her bond with New Zealand-born husband Charlie. "You become a team and it strengthens your relationship," she said. "You have to rely on each other, especially because we're both working. I couldn't do it without Charlie." Alex also revealed that she speaks both Welsh and English to little Teddy, and said she hopes to possibly be "a mum to another, if we're lucky".
