Celebrities like J Lo and Jennifer Biel seem to have a golden halo around their skin, a sheer sheen of luminescence that reflects light and gives them a glow. Of course the rich and famous have access to facialists and even, sometimes, dermatologists and surgeons to keep skin super smooth. But even without a superstar budget, it's possible to make skin radiate health.
* Exfoliation is the most important step. Skin renews itself every 21 days – longer as we grow older, which is why we keep our holiday tans longer the older we get. If dead cells hang around on the surface of the skin they absorb light, making it look dull. Exfoliate regularly to keep skin smooth, most often with a scrub and maybe occasionally with a microdermabrasion kit. If you use the latter, make sure you use sun protection afterwards as skin will be more prone to hyperpigmentation.
