Congratulations are in order for Diane Kruger, who has been announced as the newest face of Chanel. The Hollywood actress has previously fronted campaigns for the French fashion house's fragrances, but this time she will be the face of the brand's new skincare line. "With her natural elegance and beauty, Diane Kruger is one of the freshest, most recognizable faces in film," Chanel said in a statement.

This covetable gig is the latest in a long line of accomplishments for talented German-born Diane, who started her career as a ballet dancer, model and actress. She made her debut in a Chanel ad back in 1996, starring in the company's Allure fragrance campaign. In 2007, she joined forces with the renowned fashion house for a second time for the Paris Biarritz handbags ads, shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself. This new campaign will be released later this year. Last year, Diane spoke exclusively to HELLO! about her beauty secrets. "The one thing I always travel with is my concealer," she said.

"No matter what I do – whether it's playing up my eyes or creating a bold lip – the skin is the most important thing. It has to look flawless and have an even tone." Living in sunny Los Angeles, Diane is wary of the sun harming her skin. "When I moved to L.A. I noticed that the sun was so much hotter than I was used to and I started to get a few sun spots," she said. "So I went to a dermatologist who advised me never to go out without wearing SPF." She combines her skincare regime with an aim to get proper rest each night. "I try to get nine hours' sleep a night – it's really that simple," she said. "Of course, it's hard to do sometimes, especially when I am working, but I feel and look better when I sleep well. I also noticed a great improvement in my skin when I gave up smoking. There are no secret potions though."
