Even the most fanatical of footwear fashionistas have thought twice before purchasing something suede. Leather (or faux, of course) is usually considered the failproof option because it's better versed in damper weather.
But if there’s any advocate for suede boots all year round – it’s the Princess of Wales. Kate Middeton has proven time and again that slouchy suede boots are the ultimate accessory for a chic but casual dress agenda regardless of the occasion.

Her brown custom Gianvito Rossi knee-highs are a key player in her current wardrobe. She recently donned the ultimate countryside look in a utilitarian coat and brown fedora hat, and then gave the look a city girl makeover with a Victoria Beckham midi dress and the same suede footwear.
These boots are definitely made for walking, particularly from one season to another – for when it’s still too chilly to bare your toes, but a midi dress with knee highs is enough coverage to finally eschew tights.
How to clean suede shoes?
“They can generally be cleaned by rubbing them with a damp, lint-free cloth or a specialist suede brush.” According to the suede shoe gurus at Clarks. “It's best to do this in straight motions but in different directions, as this will help remove dirt without pushing it deeper into the fibres.”
So as we look forward to brighter days and warmer weather, add suede boots to your Spring wishlist – flattering footwear for your capsule wardrobe.
