The 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards took place on Sunday 19 February, and once again we were treated to a spectacle of glamorous gowns. 

While the award's season 'calendar highlight' is indubitably the Oscars, the BAFTAs certainly holds its own. The first ever BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) awards were held on the 29 May 1949, at the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square for films shown in the United Kingdom in 1947 and 1948. Since then the London-based event has delivered year after year of stunning style moments, from the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor and Cher.

Nowadays the BAFTAs sees senior royals hit the red carpet, and this year the Prince and Princess of Wales were once again in attendance (Kate wore opera gloves, it doesn’t get more glamorous than that.) The Prince became President of BAFTA in 2010 and his wife first joined him at the star-studded bash back in 2017, since then the pair have become a fixture at the awards show.
