While US songbird Britney recreated a pose associated with Sixties starlet Angie Dickinson

They may have had their heyday nearly 40 years ago, but Sixties starlets continue to influence modern day popsters. While Aussie songbird Kylie Minogue has gone for the Brigitte Bardot look in the promo shots for her new single, Britney Spears recreates a pose struck by Sixties pinup Angie Dickinson for the November issue of Esquire magazine.

With her pale-lipped pout, snug stripey crop top and low-cut pants, revealing a curvy midriff, Kylie captures the essence of the legendary "sex kitten". "Photos of Bardot were definitely an influence on the look," revealed a spokesperson, as, presumably, was the influence of the singer's French boyfriend, actor Olivier Martinez.

Although Kylie has become renowned for her pert posterior, Britney has shown that she's got a few cheeky curves of her own. The 21-year-old American wears little more than a figure-hugging, fluffy sweater and a pair of stilettos for the "70 Years Of Women We Love" feature in the November issue of the magazine.
