The final touches are being added to the caravan and tee-pee strewn Brit Awards stage, which takes on a festival theme this year, at London's Earls Court, where Duffy and Coldplay are hotly tipped to take home a lion's share of trophies on Wednesday evening.

Chris Martin's indie rock band and the Bangor-born sensation, who will perform at the UK's answer to the Grammys, lead the fore with four nominations each. Also in the running are Mercury Prize winners Elbow and Scouting For Girls, who have three nods each, and former X Factor winner Leona Lewis.

Other acts taking to the stage include U2, comeback kings Take That, best single nominees Girls Aloud, and outstanding contribution trophy recipients The Pet Shop Boys - who will duet with Lady GaGa to close the show.

On presenting duty at Wednesday's ceremony, broadcast live on ITV1 from 8pm, will be Gavin & Stacy actors James Corden and Matthew Horne. The comedy duo will be helped out by former Brit Award recipient Kylie Minogue.
