Robbie Williams slips on frock for Comic Relief edition of 'Little Britain'

Fans more used to seeing Robbie Williams in his crooner role will meet their hero in a very different light on Friday, March 13. They'll see a shorter version of the former Take That member wearing a pink dress and with fuchsia ribbons in his hair.

Robbie donned the costume when he teamed up with Little Britain stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams for a one-off Comic Relief edition of their hit show.

One sketch features the Angels singer as Candy Marie-Candy, a young American girl invited for a sleepover by her friend Ellie Grace, played by Matt. While mum – David – cooks breakfast, the pair begin a game of 'I love you more…' which moves to a hilarious conclusion.

"It's hard to say no when asked to take part in a Little Britain sketch for Comic Relief. But I have to admit dressing up as a small American child in a pretty dress made it all the more appealing," revealed the Burslem-born singer, who also appeared in a 2005 Comic Relief sketch on the show.

And Robbie's flair for comedy really impressed his co-stars, apparently. Referring to the 35-year-old's performance as "absolutely brilliant", David added: "He could be a comedian full time if he wanted to. And we've found the best way to tempt him back into the spotlight is by putting him in a dress".
